TRYBAL

Changelog

We build TRYBAL in waves and ship in the open. Here’s every wave so far — newest first.

  1. Wave 3 — Widen the circle

    Latest

The catalog grows past the couch: places to buy, places to go, and a lot more to watch.

    • Shared lists — collections you can share, follow, and build together with your tribe.
    • Businesses and retailers in the catalog: fly shops, bike shops, guides, and where to buy the gear you saw on screen.
    • Universal search across programs, moments, spots, gear, and species.
    • Eight new programs added to the synced catalog, spanning all eight sports.
    • New onboarding flow (pick your sports, set your home water) and a full settings screen.
    • Sync hardening — steadier episode lock, better mid-show detection, cleaner recovery when you pause the big screen.
    • Tribes feeds: activity from your tribes lands on Home.
    • TRYBAL on the web — plus this website, the download guide, and this changelog.
  2. Wave 2 — Field & tribe

The loop closes: what you keep on the couch becomes equipment in the field, and the fire gets company.

    • Saved spots with honey-hole privacy tiers — public, tribe-only, or yours alone.
    • Trip builder: promote a collection into an ordered trip with per-stop beta, then take it offline.
    • Field logs — record what actually happened out there and link it back to the moment that taught you.
    • Entity spec sheets for gear, species, and people, straight from the moment timeline.
    • Sport-aware map layers on Places — each sport sees terrain its own way.
    • Campfires: synced watch parties with timestamp-pinned chat.
    • Live conditions on filmed locations — flows, tides, snowpack — “then vs. now.”
    • Fieldcraft skill trees grown from tips, with line beta cards for snow and a season radar for everything with a calendar.
    • A dedicated Tribe tab for feeds, premieres, and RSVPs.
  3. Wave 1 — The ember ritual

The core loop gets its choreography. Syncing stops feeling like a settings screen and starts feeling like lighting a fire.

    • The ember ritual: a breathing sync button that opens into campfire sonar and locks to your episode.
    • Moment drift + ember scrubber — moments rise onto your phone exactly when they happen on the big screen.
    • Capture arc: one tap saves a moment and flies it into your library.
    • Living sport themes — the whole app retunes to your sport's accent color.
    • Home brief, per-sport hubs, and the first Camp and Places tabs.
    • A designed haptic vocabulary, so touch feedback is as art-directed as color.
  4. Wave 0 — First light

The foundation: a time-coded catalog and an app that can follow it.

    • TRYBAL app for Android with the full “basecamp at dusk” design system and all eight sports.
    • The synced catalog: programs, episodes, and time-coded moments with spots, gear, tactics, and species attached.
    • Sync sessions — lock your phone to any episode's timeline.
    • Captures and collections: keep a moment with one tap, organize it for the trip it belongs to.
    • Accounts, profiles, and the Supabase backend everything stands on.
